HERMIT OR: THE IMMORTALITY OF THE CRAB is a dark comedy short film about a disgruntled shopkeeper who must defend his pet store from imminent closure and himself from a descent into madness. HERMIT is an absurd examination of the dangers of isolation and the importance of community. When old hermit Gregory (KEVIN D. O'NEIL) discovers his pet store is facing closure, he descends down a phantasmagoric path marked with fear, betrayal, and desolation. HERMIT showcases the dangers of self-preservation and underscores the necessity of human connection in our lives.
